Daddy Takes the Reins Box Set

I had originally had a different post in mind today, and I’ve bumped that until next week because of this exciting announcement… that was intended for last week but was delayed!

I’ve been wanting to put together a box set for the Daddy Takes the Reins series since book four came out. With the first four books being a complete story arc, it seemed like a good time, but I’ve never done a box set before, so I was nervous.

Also, there is an expense to putting this new edition out. New cover, formatting, etc. So, the timing needed to be right. At the beginning of August, I started working on it with the designer, and I got it all put together and ready to go live but… Amazon had some issues with it.

Amazon can be confusing. They have weird rules, which are often capricious and unfair. On top of that it can be hard to reach a real person. Since the series was already published as single books, the combination of the box set triggered alarms. They demanded proof I had permission from the publisher to combine them.

Well, I am the publisher, through Amazon. These books have never been with a traditional publisher, like some of my other series. They have never been published anywhere but on Amazon. So needless to say, proving I had my own permission was difficult.

They should easily have been able to look into my account and see that the person who had published them before was me, but somehow, they simply couldn’t do that.

I ended up having to write a contract between myself and myself, wherein I gave myself permission to go ahead and publish the box set. But when I submitted the contract Amazon kept flagging it and saying it didn’t include information. It listed the info it didn’t include, and every single thing was actually in there. What the heck!

I rewrote it anyway… nope, it now said it didn’t have my names in it, it wasn’t signed, the book names weren’t listed. All of this was in there. It turns out that I wasn’t dealing with a real person, just a bot. And the bot couldn’t read the pdfs for some reason.

I finally got it worked out through a real person over the phone and she was able to refer all my info to a human team on Sunday morning. A couple hours later the box set was live– a week later than I planned to release it, so it’s thrown off my schedule.

But after all of that, the box set is finally here! I’m really pleased with it, and I think you will be too. It combines the first four books of the series, a complete story arc with Sam and Charlie, and a brand new cover.

And you can get it for half the price of buying the individual titles. Everyone loves a good bargain, right?

Action Daddy Deleted Scene!

For those who aren’t subscribed to my newsletter or missed the last one, I wanted to make sure you got a chance to grab the deleted scene from the last book.

Action Daddy Book Three: The Daddy Returns, was expanded from a short story in the USA Today Bestselling, and International Bestselling Dirty Daddies 2021. I gave it a new beginning, a new ending, and a whole lot of new material in the middle too.

The part that was a short story has been rewritten to make it flow in a longer book. You’ll get to know Mitch’s family a lot better, learn more about his history too, so if all you’ve read is the novella, you’ll definitely want to read the book.

It ended up being about three times the size of the original story after all the rewrites. But there was one short scene that wasn’t working as I expanded the book. It was sweet and full of little family moments, but it interrupted the flow between Mitch and Olivia so I had to cut it.

I did save it because there were so many sweet moments, I couldn’t bear to throw it away, but I thought my readers might love the additional moments with them. There’s nothing steamy in the deleted scenes, it’s just a cozy little scene with Mitch, Olivia, and Emma.

If you read the novella, I’m sure there’s no spoilers in it but if you haven’t read it or the book there might be a few small ones. Nothing major.

Book Checklist and Newsletter Page Updates

A while back I was asked to make a checklist for my books so readers could be sure they didn’t miss any, and I did. However, I hadn’t updated it in a while, and it was woefully out of date!

I’ve taken care of that now, with the addition of a second checklist.

Some people really hate spoilers of any kind and that includes listing the less obvious tropes in a book, and trigger warnings. I understand, but it’s hard to please everyone when there are so many different opinions.

So what I’ve done is made one checklist that is spoiler free and just lists the books and genre in each series under both pen names.

The second checklist has many of the main book tropes listed, as well as any triggers I could think might bother people. If you’re worried about triggers, you can now check there for hints of things that might bother you.

Both checklists can be downloaded in PDF form and are printable, so it’s up to you which you prefer.

“Do you know what happens when you don’t play fair?” He phrased it as a question, but it felt like a threat.

She pretended not to notice. “Mmm, can’t say I do.” Inside she was shocked at how daring she was acting. She very rarely got in moods like this, but she had to admit it was fun to tease him.

He took a step forward, and then another until he had backed her up against a wall. “I stop playing fair too.” The words came out low, almost a growl and then he was pressed against her, and his mouth came down on hers possessively.

She made a small whimpering sound and her attempts to undress came to a halt when he grabbed her wrists and trapped them above her head. Her body reacted with a surge of arousal.

With his knee pressing firmly between her legs she felt completely trapped. The sense of helplessness was delicious. and there was an immediate pulse deep in her core. It demanded more and she writhed against his body.
