Reality Strikes Again– Fictional BDSM Clubs Versus the Real thing.

There are soooo many differences between real life BDSM clubs and fantasy clubs in books.

I’d like to start off by saying this topic has been on my list for a while and I’ve just recently been inspired to finish it after reading a new club book. Since we’re in the middle of a pandemic right now I’m sure no one is going out to play in clubs much anyway, but eventually things will get back to normal so I figured I might as well post it.

I’ve often thought that most readers have an idea of what a BDSM or kink club is like that is based solely on fiction. Having read, and enjoyed, quite a few BDSM club series now I can tell you that if your image of a club comes directly from those books you are probably going to be disappointed in the real thing.

Krampus, the Myths and Legends

I said I’d be keeping things light this month, and since I just wrote two books in a Krampus series, I thought it might be fun to go over the history and lore of this mythological figure. It surprised me how few people had heard of Krampus before my books and I thought readers might be interested in learning a bit more about him.

Krampus is known for a couple of things. One is his devilish looks. There is a lot of fun old artwork out there depicting him looking quite scary, which is, of course, a bit different from how I’ve written him in my books.

The other… is punishment.

Ignore The One True Wayers – Your Kink Doesn’t Need To Follow Anyone Else’s Rules

I apologize in advance because this is a long one.

From the title I bet you can guess what we’re going to discuss today. People who decide that their way to kink is the only way to kink are bad for the community. It’s a form of gatekeeping and it takes away people’s right to decide for themselves.
