Cover Reveal and New Release News

I hope you enjoyed the article on sub frenzy. I was soooo tempted to preempt it for this news, but I decided it would just be a two post week instead.

I’ve been keeping things under wraps because I had some serious decisions to make, and once I made them things started to move very quickly. Earlier this year I finished a new novel, in a new genre for me. I wanted to try my hand at a Cowboy Daddy Dom book, because those are really popular right now.

And I think we all have a soft spot for cowboys right? Well, the book came out even better than I hoped, and even though until recently I’ve only done traditional publishing, I decided it was time to give self-publishing a shot. I don’t intend to go completely indie, because to be honest it’s a lot more work for me.

But it’s nice to have the freedom to write more of what I want, and worry less about pleasing publishers. So as a result Claiming His Brat will be released, by me, this month. Super exciting right?

It’s back from my editors, and the cover designer (Allysa Hart at AllyCat’s Creations) has just sent me the finished cover. It is gorgeous. I love it! And this was my first time hiring someone to do a cover for me, so it was a lot of fun to work out all the details.

But all fun aside, this is a big step for me. Huge. Publishing my own books is not only a lot of work, but it’s a lot of risk too. I’m putting all my energies and efforts into making it a success and it’s worn me a little ragged.

Seriously, both G and L are starting to talk about tying me to the bed just to get me to slow down and sleep. There’s just so much to do, and I have so many different projects happening that I’ve been working almost every minute.

October is going to be a big month for me. I’m not sure how big yet, but at the very least I know for sure I have both Claiming His Brat, and the Dark Galaxies anthology releasing in the same week. On top of that I’m making a serious attempt to finish a Krampus novella for the holidays that I’d love to also publish by the end of the month, but I have no idea if that will actually be possible or not.

I guess we’ll see how it goes! The Cowboy Daddy book will be going up for pre-order soon. It will be a very short window before it goes live, mostly just so I can ensure a smooth release. But October 15th is the day I plan for the release, and once I get it listed with an actual buy link you’ll be hearing about it a lot.

Part of being indie/self-pubbed is that I won’t have a publisher to push this book to fifty-thousand subscribers for me. I’ll be doing it all on my own. So if you want to support me, then buying the book, reviewing, and recommending it to friends is a great way to ensure its success.

I will also being doing a release party on Facebook, and probably a few other parties to promote the hell out of it, and I’ll make sure to keep you all up to date on that too.
