I started out as a fetish artist for C.F. Publications years ago and before long I began to write for them as well. Hundreds of short stories later I decided to give books a try; now I'm now an author with five novels under my belt. My favorite genres in which to create are those involving power exchange relationships so you'll see a lot of that here.
For a lot of us in D/s relationships where there are rules and discipline, time management and all the issues that go along with it seem to be a big thing. I know one of the issues I struggle with the most is being self-motivating. I’m just not.
That’s always been one of the things I most need from a Dom, because once I get going, I’m a powerhouse for work—but getting started… well, that’s another story. I am absolutely an example of the First law of Physics. Object at rest stays at rest; object in motion stays in motion.
I’ve been sitting on the news about this series for over a year! So, I’m very excited to finally get to talk about it. This is a huge twelve book, multi-author paranormal romance series.
All the books will stand alone, and you can skip any that don’t appeal to you and still fully enjoy the others. It is a shared world though, and there will be crossovers and characters may pop up in multiple books.
As you can tell from the graphic, this is a Zodiac series, with each author covering a different sign. I chose Scorpio because that’s my birth sign. It’s the second to be released and will be out in October.
Okay, let me start right from the beginning by clarifying the title. Aftercare is a choice for the submissive. Doms should always check in with a sub after scenes in some way and be ready to provide any care needed. That’s just part of responsible Domming.
This might be physical care if some first aid or physical assistance is required. It might be emotional care if the scene was intense.
I had originally had a different post in mind today, and I’ve bumped that until next week because of this exciting announcement… that was intended for last week but was delayed!
I’ve been wanting to put together a box set for the Daddy Takes the Reins series since book four came out. With the first four books being a complete story arc, it seemed like a good time, but I’ve never done a box set before, so I was nervous.
Also, there is an expense to putting this new edition out. New cover, formatting, etc. So, the timing needed to be right. At the beginning of August, I started working on it with the designer, and I got it all put together and ready to go live but… Amazon had some issues with it.
Amazon can be confusing. They have weird rules, which are often capricious and unfair. On top of that it can be hard to reach a real person. Since the series was already published as single books, the combination of the box set triggered alarms. They demanded proof I had permission from the publisher to combine them.
Well, I am the publisher, through Amazon. These books have never been with a traditional publisher, like some of my other series. They have never been published anywhere but on Amazon. So needless to say, proving I had my own permission was difficult.
They should easily have been able to look into my account and see that the person who had published them before was me, but somehow, they simply couldn’t do that.
I ended up having to write a contract between myself and myself, wherein I gave myself permission to go ahead and publish the box set. But when I submitted the contract Amazon kept flagging it and saying it didn’t include information. It listed the info it didn’t include, and every single thing was actually in there. What the heck!
I rewrote it anyway… nope, it now said it didn’t have my names in it, it wasn’t signed, the book names weren’t listed. All of this was in there. It turns out that I wasn’t dealing with a real person, just a bot. And the bot couldn’t read the pdfs for some reason.
I finally got it worked out through a real person over the phone and she was able to refer all my info to a human team on Sunday morning. A couple hours later the box set was live– a week later than I planned to release it, so it’s thrown off my schedule.
But after all of that, the box set is finally here! I’m really pleased with it, and I think you will be too. It combines the first four books of the series, a complete story arc with Sam and Charlie, and a brand new cover.
And you can get it for half the price of buying the individual titles. Everyone loves a good bargain, right?
Daddy Takes the Reins Box Set can be found on Amazon here. It’s in Kindle Unlimited and also available in a monster size paperback too. If you get the chance, please leave me a review. They are a big help in getting my work seen, even if the review is a simple “I liked it!” it helps a lot.
Join me back here next Friday for the post I had to bump: Aftercare Is an Option.
A lot of people who start exploring the kink world begin with some spicy foreplay. A little domination in bed, a little spanking during sex, that kind of thing. For some people it never goes any further than that. And that’s perfectly okay!
I saw someone asking a question recently in a BDSM group. They felt awkward about being there and weren’t sure if they should be. They didn’t know if they belonged in a kink group or could call themselves a sub.
They had some curiosity about learning how things worked, but so far, their only interests were very mild. They talk about how their main fantasies were just about being spanked during sex, but they didn’t think they really enjoyed pain.
Most of the comments were pretty reassuring and accepting but a few gatekeepers slipped in with things like “You sound pretty vanilla to me. This probably isn’t your thing.” Hinting that they should just go.
Things like that really make me grit my teeth. If you’ve followed me for long you’ve probably noticed that one of the few things I get on my soap box about, are gatekeepers who try to say there is only one way to do kink. They think anything outside their narrow view is just wrong, or abuse, or doesn’t count.
