New Book! Her Wicked Rhode Island Dom Is Live!

Hello readers! Surprise!

I know this is sudden. I just got the final cover, blurb, and the pre-order link just a couple of days ago, and since I usually post on Fridays, when the book was releasing, I figured I might as well wait until it was live and announce it.

This year has been moving really slowly, and I feel like it’s been ages since I had something new to share. I pretty much finished this one at the end of April, but traditionally published books tend to move a little slower through production, even in the romance genre. It’s going to be worth the wait though.

Her Wicked Rhode Island Dom is book sixteen in the Stateside Dom series. This series features stand-alone books by different authors and assorted dynamic styles. There is no crossover between books, so you can read just the ones you like without worrying about missing anything.

Her Wicked Rhode Island Dom

Stateside Doms #16 (Each book stands alone)

He’s willing to wait however long it takes to make her his. She’s already waited a lifetime to find him. And now she’s just about out of patience.

After a tragically failed relationship and fifteen years of sobriety, Clint Jamison is finally happy with his life just as it is. The last thing he’s looking for is to play the knight in shining armor to a sweet, broken sub with wide blue eyes and curves for days. But when a scene in his club goes horribly wrong, Clint steps in to do exactly that.

And falls headfirst into everything he’s been doing his damndest to avoid. So even though Clint aches to see the gorgeous blonde kneeling at his feet, and his palm positively itches to give her the discipline she so obviously needs, he’s determined to give Nora the space she deserves to heal from the wounds left by the man who nearly destroyed her.

But Clint’s own insecurities about his past have him doubting every move he makes, and if he waits too long to claim her, he risks losing Nora forever.

Warning: Steamy scenes and kink (obviously)

***

I really haven’t given out many details about this book before. I have a lot to say now that it’s live, but if you’re not interested in learning a little more about the plot and my thoughts behind it, you can feel free to go straight to the book.

When I was invited to join, I almost turned it down because all the states I would have enjoyed doing were gone, but the publisher came back to me and asked which one I’d wanted. It turned out… one of them was available after all: Rhode Island.

I may have mentioned this before, but I spent most of my life in Newport, Rhode Island. If it was available, I had to take it– and I’m really glad I did, because it’s been a lot of fun to write.

I also decided to explore some topics that you don’t often see in BDSM romance novels. This isn’t unusual for me. While I do follow the general market trends, I like to put my own spin on things, and that includes introducing a note of reality at times. Having a lifetime of experience in the BDSM world is a huge asset here.

I think that a lot of authors are nervous about showing abusive Doms, because until not too long ago a lot of vanilla people thought BDSM was inherently abusive.

It’s absolutely not and the difference should be really clear to anyone who looks, but it’s not a lie that abusers can sometimes be attracted to the scene. Unfortunately, they look for vulnerable subs who are inexperienced in kink, and don’t really know the difference yet. Nora is one of these subs.

Clint on the other hand is a responsible, experienced Dom who owns a new upscale BDSM club not far from Providence. He can’t stand fake Doms who abusive trusting subs, so when he suspects Nora’s Dom is one of those… he keeps a close eye on the situation and ends up getting to be a knight in shining armor.

He is also instantly attracted to her, but Clint doesn’t do relationships. Not at all. He does casual play, one-night stands, but that’s the extent of it… until Nora.

But changing everything to be with her isn’t simple. Clint is an alcoholic in recovery. This is something you rarely see in romance at all, but especially not in BDSM romance.

He doesn’t drink anymore. In fact, he’s been sober for fifteen years, but before he got on the wagon, he made mistakes because of his drinking, and he still has guilt issues around it. (Spoilers so I won’t say more.)

So, now if he wants Nora he is finally going to have to put his past behind him. He needs to get over the mistakes he made and focus on the man he is now. Basically, we have two broken people who find each other and fall in love.

I love complicated dynamics like this because they feel real to me. Doms make mistakes. Sometimes they do dangerous stuff when they should know better. They have self-doubts and they make the wrong choices, just like everyone else.

Subs fall for the wrong Tops and then get stuck until someone helps them out of the situation. That’s life. It doesn’t make them a damsel; it just makes them someone who needed help and was lucky enough to get it.

Anyway, that’s a little more context than you need to enjoy the book, but I had a lot of thoughts in mind when I was plotting this one and I wanted to share. If you enjoy the book, please don’t forget to review. I’m extremely grateful for every review because they are a big help in promoting books.
