What Is Something Every New Submissive Exploring a Kinky Lifestyle Needs to Know?

Someone asked me this question a while back and I made a note of it (as I do) for the blog. When people ask me things it generally means other people are out there with the same questions. I figure that makes it good content to write about.

So, if there was just one thing I could tell a brand-new subby who is just starting to dip their toes in the kink pool, it would be this:

Don’t settle. Don’t rush. Don’t let loneliness, or need, push you into accepting the first Top/Dom who looks interested. Don’t let your inner bully tell you that you can’t do better and that if you don’t snatch them up you’ll never find someone.

I don’t have the mindset or the time for deep-diving lifestyle articles this month, so I was looking for something light and fun. Since my birthday was on the 13^th, birthday spankings popped into my head.

How Action Daddy Happened–and a Teaser!

I have a number of lifestyle articles percolating, and probably a dozen that are partly written, but I don’t yet know what the next finished one will be. Last month was exhausting, making the bestseller list is not an easy task. I got very little writing done so now I’m playing catch-up.

Dirty Daddies is in Kindle Unlimited now, and is still ranked in the top 400 books on Amazon, with #1’s in lots of categories still standing, which is absolutely freaking amazing to me. Seriously I’m so impressed with its success. But now that it’s out in the world it’s time for me to get back to my next book.

I Hate the Word Domme

Maybe this is a secret. Maybe I haven’t mentioned this before. I honestly can’t say for sure. I don’t remember if it’s ever come up.

I hate the word Domme. It makes me grit my teeth.

Manage Your Expectations

This article has been on my mind for a while now, but I’ve had trouble getting the words right. Usually if I wait long enough things will more-or-less form up in my head and then I can spill them out in one long whoosh.

That didn’t seem to be happening with this one and then I realized it was because I was working with the wrong title.

I started out with: Subs Are Not Children. And that’s true. Even if the sub identifies as a Little or a Brat, they aren’t children. The distinction between a childish headspace and a child is hugely important for many reasons.

But that’s not really what I want to discuss right now, so I gave it a title that more accurately reflects what I was trying to say: Manage your expectations. That is nice and compact, but it’s also a bit vague.
